About Us

Boyds Creek Elementary School has an early history beginning in August of 1949. Three schools, Island View, Highland View, and Union Valley, came together as one and remained in existence until 1973. In 2003, the Sevier County Board of Education saw a need to serve the students in the growing Boyds Creek community. On August 22, 2005, the newly constructed Boyds Creek Elementary School opened under the leadership of Mr. John Wade, welcoming 383 students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. Mr. Wade served as Principal from 2005 to 2011, alongside Assistant Principal, Mrs. Kimberley Grosser, an alumni of the original Boyds Creek School. Mrs.Grosser served as Principal with Assistant Principals, Mrs. Cogan and Dr. Shannon Sullivan from 2011 through 2021.

Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, Mrs. Cogan serves as Principal with Dr. McDaniel and Mr. Ogle as Assistant Principals. Our school currently serves 400 students in grades Kindergarten through 6th. The administration, teachers, and support staff work diligently to educate all students to the highest levels of academic achievement, while enabling them to reach their potential as productive, responsible, and compassionate members of society.

Boyds Creek Elementary School welcomes you! We are so glad you’re here!
